These are good ideas for a street car (that maybe sees a competition 
event once in a while).  The problem is that adding weight in general 
is bad from a performance standpoint.  Most cars will have a battery, 
tho, so moving it makes a lot of sense if you're looking to transfer 
weight.

BTW, a properly installed trunk battery is perfectly safe.  Recall that 
the stock battery has an unfused cable and they do indeed get chafed 
and short out, so this is an area to be careful about anyway.

One additional note - you don't need to use the stock late model 
battery, one of the Honda batteries will spin the engine just fine and 
is lighter.
