I agree with my colleagues that EZ outs are worthless, however, I've had success heating the broken bolt/stud and its surround, cherry red with a touch, and THEN use an EZ out. Often works; you just have to know how much torque you can apply til it snaps. It's knowlege that's gained by experience. This proceedure usually takes the temper out of the EZ out, making it a one-shot.
