New on the NECC web site, a comprehensive article titled "Mosport Tips -
Crossing the Border Between USA and Canada." Here's the link:
http://www.corvair.org/chapters/necc/page21.html
This article is an expanded and more detailed version of the article in the
June Communique, and all persons coming to the convention, whether or not
they are planning drive at the Mosport event, are encouraged to read it.
There are also links to it elsewhere on the site, including the home page,
just to make sure people can find it easily.
In addition, this new "Mosport Tips" page lets the reader print out the
text in the form of either a pdf or a Word document. You'll see this
feature at the bottom of the Mosport Tips page. This will allow local
clubs to print out and/or copy this article for their local club
newsletter, and it will allow individuals to print out the article and take
it with them when they drive to Canada, for reference.
In conjunction with the convention, the NECC is conducting two events on
the Canadian side: The "Corvair Day" car show in Oshawa, Ontario, on
Sunday, July 23, and the Mosport track event in Bowmansville, Ontario, on
Monday, July 24. The car show is open to all Corvairs and the track event
is open to all makes. Details on these events can be found on the site's
"Announcements" page.
While you're visiting the NECC site, check out the laps times for the
recent event on the North Course at Pocono, where Mitsubishi Evos ruled the
day and where John Egerton's 1964 coupe recorded the fastest Corvair
laps. (In fairness to the late-model lovers, Bruce Carlton's late coupe
would likely have been FTD had it not exploded a flywheel in spectacular
fashion during practice.)
The address for the NECC home page is:

Our thanks to NECC webmaster Al Lacki for these updates.
We're looking forward to seeing you in Oshawa, at Mosport, and at the
convention!
