Sometimes the "V" section of the pulleys will rust, even a little surface  
rust on all 4 pulleys can make a belt "feel" a bit smaller...
If you get a chance, check the inner sections of the pulleys (fan, idler,  
balancer & alternator) and see if there is any rust. It can chew up a belt  in 
just a few miles.
