Before I get too far:
Are there many Corsa members / Corvair owners near
Huntsville, AL I could meet? Email me
(dagazio at yahoo.com). I don't know whether I should
hook up with the Nashville group or B'ham. I'd rather
see a group here.
When I moved to Alabama from metro Detroit I was
pleasantly surprised by all the old cars here. I was
also happy to realize I could start driving old cars
again. Until 1997 all my cars were built from 1969 to
1974. I gave up on the cars because of the cold and
salt.
After my first year here, I decided I needed to sell
my boat and get an old convertible to drive to Sonic.
Only the Corvair fit the bill because I always loved
the style, they are well supported, reasonably priced,
small but there is room for four and there seems to be
a lot of them around still. Well, I found a nice
bodied 'vert and a parts car. I never sold the boat,
so I only got the parts car.
This first Corvair (the parts car) came from eBay.
It's a 1967 Monza coupe. It has it's share of
problems, but it was able to drive up my driveway. It
also looks unmolested and has the telescoping steering
wheel, 110, PG & a/c (held pressure). It's got the
usual rust and maybe a little extra. I will be working
on it full time if I ever get rid of this boat. I'll
be asking a lot of questions later.
I will be selling my boat shortly but I wanted to know
if anyone in my area (150 miles of 35757) had a car
they wanted to trade for a power boat ($3500 minimum
value) . I'd rather trade it than sell it. I can give
the details, email me at Dagazio at yahoo.com. I would
like a fair 'vert of equal value but the right coupe
could be alright.
By the way, I am going Corvair nuts. Is there a
medical term for this? Anything I can take?
