<VV> EM under-dash lights

Anyone have an em with under-dash accessory lights?  My '63 came with them from the factory, and I am still trying to figure out what to do with the light that is located over the parking brake handle.  From the GM Body manual, the light appears to be installed properly, but nearly each time I use the parking brake (pg car) I scrape my hand on the sharp edges of the light housing or I knock the bulb loose.  Bending the light housing or turning the housing one direction or another just seems to make the situation worse.

I would appreciate it if anyone would send me a digital pic of that accessory light as installed in their car.  Perhaps there is just a physical position for the light that I just haven't considered yet...or maybe I just have fat hands!  Either way, I'd like to solve the problem, because it's nice to have the lights working at night.
