<VV> Front Tars

Since wife's tires show no sign of wearing out soon and 215s do not fit in 
front, I obtained a pair of BFG Touring T/As (for driving quietly) in 
195x70x14 (24.8" diameter, .2" more than 185x80x13) and mounted on a pair 
of 14x6 Pontiac Snowflakes with about 4" backspacing (measured with tape 
and a block of wood).

These fit but at 1 turn from lock they come within 1/4" of the screw 
holding the stainless wheel trim at the front-bottom. Is this normal and is 
this enough ? Driver's side is slightly closer than passenger. Seems like a 
lot of room behind the tire, is only close at front and that particular 
steering angle.
