Speaking of which I'm taking my 66 180 on it's first real trip in a few days
as we move about 300 km away - over one of the bigger passes in the Canadian
Rockies so I'm hoping to experience that "turbo rush" for the first time
myself!

I found that you ran out of first gear pretty quickly already. An even lower
first wouldn't have been that useful - especially on a turbo where you want
to stay in a single gear with the engine under load as long as possible, to
get that oversized turbo spinning.....

Wouldn't combining the 3.27's with a '61FC tranny and it's stump puller
first gear be a good solution as well?
Regards,
Joel

I had 3.27 in my '63 Spyder coupe (145ci). No problems whatsoever and decent
highway mileage was a bonus (28mpg Canadian).
