The brackets are probably NOT bent.  The arms are supposed to have a bit of
a "twist" to them to keep tension on the rear suspension.

The easiest method is to lower the rear of the engine several inches.  this
will help the holes line up.  I have sometimes had to have 2 jacks, one to
lower the engine and one to "tweak" the lower control arm (out by the wheel)
up or down slightly to get things to work.  Resist the temptation to tighten
up the one bolt you can easily get in, it makes it harder to wiggle things
so you can get the other one to align.  Yes, it is a pain, but youll fight
the bloomin things forever otherwise.
