Don't kid yourself, a decent set of E code headlights have it ALL over ANY
sealed beam. BY A LOT!! It's not just the bulbs that are better, the optics
are
light years ahead of that sealed beam crap.

Yes, most every set of E-code H4's I install have city lights. I have
found, however (usually when installing to replace a sealed beam) that
often they can't be used because of interference with the headlamp
assembly or body. In those cases, I pop out the city lights and put a
piece of electrical tape over the hole. No direct experience in a
Corvair, though.
In the original translated Chinese message I read:
" If your stock one is 6 x 4 inches, this auction will fit."
Uh - No Corvair that I know of has the 6 x 4 rectangular bulbs. Cars like
the Chevy Citations, and a bunch of other 80s cars had them. I, too, would
checkout the Daniel Stern lighting site. Our round headlight design is absolutely
the most efficient design for lighting. Even the HID designs use a round
reflector down in the middle of the oddly shaped light. Any other shape is a
compromise. A pair of round 5 3/4 lights on the lows and another pair on the
highs will light up the night. Just be careful how you connect them and use
them. - Seth
