With all due respect, Jeff's assertion about manufacturers specially naming hardtop body styles is not entirely accurate. The Chevrolet Bel Air model debuted in 1953, with two-door and four-door sedans (replete with B pillar) as well as a two-door hardtop and a convertible. The Ford Crown Victoria, first out in the 1955 model year, was a separate trim level within the Fairlane model group, which also included a non-Crown two-door hardtop. Consult your Old Car Price Guide for a more complete breakdown of models and trim levels.
