<VV> Shift knob history

Its always been a GM knob; started with the Corvette in the mid fiftys. Now 
the 'vette knob, and the one's that followed the full size GM's in the 
sixtys, was a little bigger than the Corvair. And I THINK the thread was 
different (not positive of the later).
