Oh, no, Eric,
That was for the factory builds. By now most, if not all crankcases, have
had the main bearing webs recessed (i.e., pounded out) due to crankshaft forces.
So now to properly fit each main bearing journal (with an original crank)
you will most likely need the FOUR different bearing sizes that were
originally available from Chevrolet to select fit each journal. (std, 1 u/s, 2 u/s and
3 u/s)
For reground crankshafts, you have little choice but to use the appropriate
undersize bearing set and hope for the best as far as main bearing clearances
are concerned. You could possibly shim these bearings to get a better fit.
