YeahbutI - look at what they had to do to get it to fit and then only in
the widest cars.
"Its crankshaft is shortened 13 mm, 3 mm at the flywheel end and 10 mm at
the accessory drive end to reduce the length of the engine compared to the
6.0L. All accessories are driven by a single serpentine belt to save space.
The water pump is mounted remotely with an elongated pump manifold that
connects it to the coolant passages."

A V-8 can fit in not much more space than an inline-4 cyl but it is going
to be cramped.
I wonder why they used the 4T65E trans rather than the stronger 4T80, 4T65
usually goes alongside a 3800.
The news they are avoiding saying is that the future at GM is for aluminum
engines, iron blocks are passing quickly.
