Not yet but was told (by someone I trust) that a compression test was run 
recently (after the problem began) showing 160 psi on all cyl. Coil wire 
off cranking sounds very even. Did have a noisy lifter on startup (stopped 
when warm) when acquired but high detergent additive has cleared that up. 
Was told the bad idle appeared suddenly.

Just wanted to strobe the collective mind before taking things apart & 
while waiting for C.A.R.E. package from Clark's.
