<VV> remote key fob question NON CORVAIR

When I had the remote starter put into my Exploder, they told me they 
reprogrammed the chip in the keys and the Exploder to match the one in the 
box they installed in the column next to the switch.  So I think it is 
possible to reprogram the vehicle or they lied to me.
