Why not just fabricate some aluminum deflectors bolted onto the air boxes
which attach to the front of the heads to deflect water downwards at about a 45
degree angle? This should pretty much keep the road crud off the barrels
and moisture from entering the heat/defrost system.
For Sale:
1981 all black Renault R5 Turbo II, mid-engined 1,381cc pushrod 4 cyl.
Solid car which has been involved in some kind of competition (unknown) as
it has coil-over Bilsteins, factory bolt-in cage, competition gauges, factory
Turbo Cup race series Gotti 3-pc. 7 & 10" X 13" rims, limited-slip and some
non-orig. engine accessories.
New $1,500 Sachs clutch, good brakes, turbo just rebuilt, engine just torn
down and scored crank repaired, drivetrain good. This car is NOT street legal
(however, talk to me) and just needs someone who is mechancally minded to do
some re-plumbing. Body is very solid/undamaged but has a cheap paint job.
Weighs about 2,100#.. Car is driveable but needs some fuel mgmt. system
tuning on the after-mkt. system to run right.
I love this car but it'll never get finished if I keep it.
Call for details & I have email pics. (407)592-2130 cell
