FWIW, I've just this week installed one with a similar rating and it works
fine.

What do you mean by "it would not work" ?

Ok here we go again. I have a friend with a 68 that wants to put an  elec
fuel pump on. He tried one with 1 1/2 - 4 Pounds of pressure and it would
not work. What pump is everyone putting on for electric? If someone could
tell  me a brand or model to look for I'll pass it on to him. I'll drive up
with the info with my 140 and mechanical pump and give it to him LOL Thanks
in  advance!!
