Actually the brass nuts have a tendency to fall off.
:-O

Just from the simple fact that the brass nuts and
stainless bolts DON'T rust and don't gall.

You need to double them up to prevent slippage due to
engine vibration...and even then I check them
periodically to make sure they're still secure.
I've lost some nuts in the past...
