FWIW, I got around a similar situation this recently by saying the battery
was for my work bench...

Strange...wonder if it's a Canuck thing.
I buy virtually all my batteries at Walmart (weekly it seems) and it's cash
and carry. The warranty paperwork is simply part of the receipt you fill out
(or not) and stick in the battery pocket.
