Seems turbo carbs tend to be susceptible to this sort of thing. Check
for black smoke out the tail pipe and sooty plugs.
Then, if any of these symptoms are confirmed, look into one of the fuel
pressure regulators the vendors sell.

And first check to see if your own regulator/fuel filter (standard on
Turbo-charged Corvairs) is correctly plumbed and operating. If the return line is
missing/plugged, or if the filter/regulator is missing, be suspicious of too
much pressure at the carb inlet.
