Hi John,
I'm Craig Nicol, the guy who did the first Fiero FI conversion and I also
have a Corvair with a 280Z FI system. Jim Brandberg (on-list) is the only
other person I am aware of that has done a Fiero FI conversion. Mike Mann
(on-list) has an "Air Sensors" FI car and there is Duane Cartwright (Corsa Oregon)
(not on list) who developed the system that Clarks sells. Be aware, none of
these are even close to bolt-on! Lots of machine and electrical work is required.
There are several cars up here in the Pacific Northwest that are using GM TBI
systems. These require almost no machine work. The popular aftermarket ecm
these days is the "Megasquirt" unit, which has the advantage of easy
reprogramming vs. the Fiero style factoyr programmed ecm. The Factory programmed ecm
has the advantage of self-correction through feedback from the O2 sensor.
What did you want to know?
Craig

Thinking of a corvair fuel injection project and I'd like to talk to a
corvair / fuel injection guy as sort of a "technical guru" . Please
contact me off list. Willing to pay.
