This reminds me....

My dad came across a car this week, with the L indicating LA in the VIN.  I
think he said it was a 66.

When they tried to wash the engine compartment, some of the outerpaint came
off, and it looks like bodycolor underneath.

His question was, were ANY of the US made, LM cars also given engine
compartment body color, like the Canadians were?

Please correct any mistaken facts from above.
