Smitty says: Cecil sometimes a head gasket leak can create that problem.
As the engine warms up the clearances close up and the smell stops. The
only way I know to find this (outside of hearing it chirping) is to pull
the manifold shrouds and look for a gummy black residue at the bottom of
the cylinders right where it enters the head.
