<VV> Correct color of heater vents on EM convertible

Hi all,
I need to know if the heater vents on my 64 convertible in the front floor
area were originally black?
The previous owner painted them blue because of the metallic blue interior. Is
this correct? Any help would be appreciated.  I only show this car locally,
but I am so fussy as to it being original.
