<VV> "O" Rings (again)

I know it's kind of difficult to answer this if you don't know the 
condition of the car, but could anyone offer an opinion (on or off 
list) - about what you would do on a low mileage engine (turbo) if you 
know that the O Rings are shot, but everything else is good (well, at 
least appears to be).  This car is basically a Sunday cruiser - kids in 
the back, not for show (yet ;).  What I'm curious about is:   Should I 
redo all of the seals at the same time (since, I'm assuming at 41,000 
miles), they've never been done?  Anything else that I can't think of 
now, but might crop up?  Is it also possible to keep this from running 
over $1000 (with labor from a good Corvair mechanic)?   I know that 
this is kind of a blanket "it depends" type question, but I'd 
appreciate any advise I could get (good and bad).  I like getting an 
idea of what I'm in for before I take it into the mechanic.
