<VV> Solid Flywheel, good or bad

I just removed my clutch expecting a riveted or bolted flywheel, to my surprise it turned out to be a solid flywheel.
Clarks catalog states that they have been selling the solid ones for years, but I read somewhere else that chevy
made a two piece flywheel for a reason and you should stay with a two piece.  What is the reason for the two piece
flywheel?  Is a solid flywheel good or bad?
