I went through the "Exide" deal about 6 years ago. Had three go bad over the
course of 2 years. The "pro-rating" was based on the list price and not the
sale price. No one pays list. Never use an Exide again.
There were several articles regarding Exide and inferior batteries including
how they knowingly provided inferior batteries to Sears for the Diehard line
and paid off someone in Sears.
I have gotten more years out of a Deka brand than anything else.
