Sure - get some addtional tubing and use a brass "compression union" to join 
the additional piece to the pick-up. Be sure to put a new "sock" on the end!  
(You could also get a couple of clamps and a 2" piece of fuel line to join the 
pieces if you think the union is overkill) Good luck!
