Bought a 65 turbo vert 2 years ago. It had sat in a garage in the foothill
since 1978. The owners father had built several garages up on this property to
store his cars and that's it, no house on the property. When the son was
settling the estate, I bought the car but the keys could not be found. No big
deal, I'd rekey the car later. Just before I was to pickup the car, the son
jimmied the trunk open and found a bag of Krugerrands. Seems the father was
eccentric and found the Corvair trunk to be the safest place to hide them. Too
bad I wasn't a couple of days faster on arranging a trailer to pickup the
car!!
