I also have a bum sender (or sealer webbing). My gauge will read no higher
than 3/4, even when there is gas to the very top of the filler. It goes pretty
quick to 1/4 then takes more time to get to E. One time I pushed it by driving
a while on E until I couldn't take it anymore and put in 10 gallons. Most of
the time I only get 9. My data, (I'm an engineer and have lots of data on all
kinds of stuff :^) ) shows a fairly consistent 18 to 20 MPG but I'm driving for
fun not economy.
