So, the RedBrier runs great all day Saturday up to Darrin's and back then down to Mason Neck for an overnight campout with the Cubscouts. On the way out of camp Sunday morning, it stalls ever time I stop, and it feels like it is loading up, of course it also smells like gas. We stop for some gas and I check and the fuel pump is leaking. I manage to limp all the way up Route 1, skipping the McDonald's I promised Mitchell for breakfast, run two lights in order to keep moving and prevent stalling, and made it all the way to Hollin Hills, and it finally stops. Help arrives within ten minutes, and I go home, remove the new fuel pump I just put on the '60 and head back over mid-afternoon. Within 5 minutes I'm on my way back home, back to normal power. The leaking pump was probably replaced by LD when he owned it because it looked new, so at most it has about 15,000 miles. Is this about right for a stock pump? Any definite recommendations out there to permanently change over to electric? Also, as my neighbor reminded me the crankcases fill up with gas when the fuel pumps go, and he was right, so it should be nice and clean inside the engine when I change the oil this week. I've been using 10W-30, anyone have any other suggestions on oil type? Thanks for reading! Greg
