your valve adjustment woes COULD be a valve guide tolerance problem...see if 
you can grab the valve spring and move it sideways much. i went thru this once 
on heads that were just "redone"...by a crook. so trusting me i overlooked 
that area way too long. the oil leak sounds like take it out and look 
time..              good luck
