this brings to mind fuel leaks  (pump, carbs, lines etc), weak plug wires 
etc, also i put an extinguisher just inside the drivers door by the vent, just 
fits with a tight space to use the ebrake (its a power glide). sometimes after 
hearing sadness like this i want to put a halon system in the engine room like 
is on my boat. automatic or manual activation..pull the t handle and fire is 
out.
fix it!   also if you have haggerty insurance you are in good hands....
