Keith.
Carb adjustments at first seem complicated. I think one of the reasons why is
because some of the adjustments don't make sense by themselves, this is why a
understanding of the linkage, the parts, and adjustments as a whole system is
very important. As everyone should know, carbs that are balanced can make all
the difference. A member of the San Diego Corvair Club and the Coyote Corvair
club, Ken Schifftner, is an expert at this stuff (gave a tech talk at the
national convention about carb tuning). He has also created some other very
usefal tools to fine tune your carbs. Personally I don't use the uni until
last just to make sure, I use a vaccum gauge to get everything fine tuned. Ken
wrote a tech article about this and it is posted on the San Diego Corvair Club
website. Here is the link, oh yeah if you have any questions I would email
him, he is a very nice person.

Remember to give the pass side carb a little (about 2 marks) more vaccum, maybe
more if your linkage is sloppy but you can carefully rebend it to make it more
responsive, because the drivers side always kick in a millsecond faster than
the pass side AND the vaccum advance runs off of the pass side.
