Don't know how you made out with the snow blower, but.
If you don't mind replacing the shaft because it is less expensive, cut the shaft on each side of the gear box.
Then you can drive the shafts out after you have soaked them with penetrating oil as Lionel mentioned.
Be sure to put some grease on the shafts when you reassemble for next time.

Hi everyone,

I have a bit of a snowblower emergency.  The augers (parts 520 and 521 in the below diagram) are rusted fast to the shaft that goes through the gear case. I was wondering why I never broke any shear bolts the past couple of years... that's why. Needless to say, the gear in the gear case is stripped and I can't get the gear case apart to replace it until I get the augers off the shaft. Try though I might, I can't get them off and I was hoping a machine shop could do it for a reasonable cost, even if I have to replace the shaft (that part's not too expensive, but the augers are prohibitively expensive. Anybody here know who can accomplish this task at a reasonable price?
