Hi everyone,

Here's the news hot off the presses! Once again your Bay State Corvair Club smoked the competition and came home with the prestigious "Best Club Participation" trophy ; (barely) . I believe last year we had 23 Corvairs on the field; this year we only had 10 . Due to the threat of showers, many members chose not to attend. Believe me I thoroughly understand. In fact, I honestly thought I'd see a "Show Cancelled" sign by the front gate at Diamond Hill Park because of the threat of showers but to my surprise, the show was fairly well attended. I was the 4th Corvair to arrive but an additional 6 rolled in as the morning progressed. It never did rain or shower; actually a couple of times there were a few peeks of blue through brightening skies.

Cruisin' Bruce Palmer was on hand at this 19th Annual All-Chevy Show and once again played 'Corvair Baby' ; the 'B' side of a 45, by Paul Revere and the Raiders, from back in the day. BSCC member Jim Pickering sent down a big bag of Kettle Corn 'on the house' for the club to munch on and there was everything from coffeee and donuts and 'snackie' things to lunch items and desserts. John Teixeira even made up a big batch of home-made Sangria.

It was about the most comfortable show weather-wise I've ever attended there at Diamond Hill Park. It's usually sooooo hot. Whereas the attendance for this show was down across the board, we were able to squeak through and win the big trophy . I'll have it on display at the 'The Tavern' at July Monthly Meeting and then it'll go on display on the wall of Steve Boyden's garage with all the other trophies our club has won.

So for those of you who were 'on the edge' about whether or not to attend, I'm sorry to say you missed a really great fun event.
Let's all hope for a sunny but not overly hot day for the big show coming up at the Endicott Estate on Sunday, July 12th. Ray 'B'
