I am a car enthusiast with the emphasis on performance. I own a 2000 C5 Corvette. I own a Pantera with a 514 c.i big block/600H.P. normally aspirated. I also own a '91 Tauras SHO model...with a highly modified engine.....which is what brings me to my new interest in Corvairs. I am currently researching an "engine swap" wherein I plan to place the SHO engine/trans in a Corvair. Obviously, at least at this point, I am in uncharted waters and considerably more research is needed. I am in search of shops in So. Cal who might be qualified and/or experienced in engine swaps in Corvairs......with "apologies" to purists! Sorry! Nevertheless, my internet and other research seems to show that Corvair enthusiasts "all just get along"...irrespective of 100% "pure" vs. highly modified! I NEED HELP!
