1961, 700 automatic, white w/blue int. 23K mile car I keep in the garage. Not perfect but pretty close. I'm 2nd owner. Original owner was 65 when it was purchased in 1961. She stopped driving it (parked in her garage) in 1983 and I bought it 5 years ago.
1963, Corvair 95, 8 door Corvan, red w/white stripe, 4 speed with 140 HP motor. Windows in all doors. Really fun to drive. Resurrected it from the grave but needed something to put my rebuilt 140 into.
1965,180 turbo coupe, black w/saddle int., daily driver, water injection, Stromberg 2 bbl, 3.55 posi, solid flywheel, solid original floors and trunk, some bondo/rust spots on body but its a daily driver.
More about myself:
I am married to a beautiful woman, Joana, who encourages my enthusiasm with the Corvair (To a point) and have 4 beautiful daughters ranging in age from 19 years all the way down to 15 months. (No mistakes!) I live in Nutley, NJ and vacation on Long Island's
south shore as often as possible. Corvairs are my Spring and Summer hobby and I collect lionel postwar in the Fall and Winter.
My family is the center of my life. I have a great job as Project Controls Specialist/Contract Administrator/Asst Project Manager for Washington Group International (formerly MK), previous to that Raytheon and previous to that Ebasco Engineers and Constructors. Each company buying out the other.
Essentially 25 years with the same people and product line. But I never forget priorities. As long as my wife and kids are happy I can be happy and enjoy my hobbies.
My first car was a '64 Monza convertible in 1970, 4 speed, 110hp. I learned almost everything on that car, especially what not to do, and what you can't do in the front seat with a gearshift in the middle. Needless to say the Corvair has been a part of my
life ever since. Not into racing them, or concours. I just enjoy driving and tinkering but not necessarily in that order. I do passable body work, have a great body and fender franchise in the area, and do all the mechanical which makes the hobby affordable (so I can buy all those trains).
