1965, Corsa Coupe, 4-spd
This is my second 'vair. My first was in 1985 when I was 16. It was a 1968 110HP Monza Coupe
with PG. I will be picking up the '65 in August. As it sits now, it is primer gray and ready for paint and
reassembly. I am expecting it to take about 1 year to button back together the way I want. My
big concern is what to do with the engine. There are 2-140HP engines that I will get with this package.
One is original to the car with about 70K on it, the other is out of a 1969 with only 40K. My goal is to
make the 1969 a performance motor within reason using the Clark's Corvair catalog as my guide.
More about myself:
At the time of writing this, I am 29 years old. I am a mechanical engineer by degree, and have worked/
lived in the Detroit area all my life. I have worked for Nissan, Ford, and a couple of tier two suppliers to
the auto industry (Valeo, Behr). I have been a HVAC and engine cooling engineer in varying capacities
for about 10 years. Although I have had a love affair my whole life with American muscle and have
always tinkered with cars, the '65 Corsa mentioned above will be my first full car project.
