All parts replaced after problem started. Fuel pump electrical w no mech pump. Pump on with the key no other switches. I can't see it as a heat issue after sitting for a week.

Details.
Is the electric pump in tandem with a mechanical pump or in place of it?
Is the pump controlled only by the ignition switch or do you have a manual switch to run it with the ignition off?
Were the new ignition parts put in after the problem came up or were they new like 6 months ago?
Did you put in a new condenser along with the points?
Have you yet checked the spark as Seth instructed? Don't just watch for the first couple of sparks. Keep cranking it and checking the spark for at least 30 seconds. Make sure it doesn't progressively get weaker.
I assume: in place of, no manual switch, ignition parts 6 months old, no new condenser, no check for spark.
Thoughts on the problem: Initial no start because the carbs have gone dry, needs fuel pumped in before it will start. Pump is operated for several minutes by turning the ignition on. While the ignition is on, the coil overheats. Overheated coil produces weak spark and no start after fuel is available. Hot engine, shut off for ten minutes heat-soaks the coil, again producing inadequate spark. Longer rest time allows the coil to recover enough to start the engine. Weak coils tend to lose spark as they heat up and regain spark as they cool. A new coil may be the fix.
However, all the above can be said about the condenser rather than the coil. The old condensers tended to last virtually forever. Newer replacement condensers are much lower quality. Failures are common with some virtually bad out of the box. So if you haven't changed the condenser, you might try it first. If you did recently put in a condenser, try putting the old one back in. If it was really old, it may be better than the new one.

I have a 65 Monza 110 Automatic with an electric fuel pump and regular points ignition. When it isn't started for a week, It will crank, but won't start immediately. If I let the fuel pump run for 5 seconds, no start. Run the fuel pump for 15 seconds, no start, 1 minute, no start, 2 minutes, no start. After attempting this routine, I let the car sit for 2 hours, then it starts right up and runs within 3 seconds and runs great. It stars right up again after it has been running but if I shut it off for 10 minutes, like when filling up at a gas station, it cranks but wont start. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, sometimes a while longer, it usually starts. It has new points, plugs, Spark plug wires. Any Ideas?
