Fair enough, but the powerglide sort of slides between gears with
the torque converter bridging the gap. Brilliantly simple and effective
transmission with only two gears - only one in fact, as high would be
direct I guess. Simplicity is a virtue. Mind you, I once owned a
Kenworth truck with a thirteen speed transmission and that was a lot of
fun also.
