I've used a torch to heat up the aluminum around the guide from inside
the valve pocket port where you can get the aluminum hot quickly without
heating (swelling) the guide itself, then flip the head over and a quick
solid rap with a small hammer will pop the guide out without removing
any metal from the head. I never had any trouble getting a guide out
this way. Same way with removing a blower fan bearing, heat the
aluminum quickly then a sharp rap with a smaller hammer will pop it out,
no argument.
Use a flat face punch on the blower bearing shaft... :-)
