Hello. Recently came across an unusual 63' Spyder. Car was originally assembled in Switzerland. Got the numbers off of the body plates.
GENERAL MOTORS SUISSE S.A. BIENNE
MAKE CHEVROLET TS, BT 4028
MODEL CORVAIR 927-S REL.
MOTOR NO T 1219 YR 350 COL.
CHASSIS NO. 30927W175453 TRIM
CHEVROLET DIV. GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
DETROIT MICHIGAN
12D
STYLE 63 0927 BODY WR 37367
TRIM 705 PAINT 932-8
ACC. 2C3C
Car has no Spyder emblems on fenders or wheel covers, only Monza. Has turbo emblem on deck lid. Spyder emblem on glove box lid and has Spyder gauge panel with speedo on kilometers. GM Suisse decal inside bottom of rear window.
Car is completely original. Paint, interior, turbo engine. The unusual equipment on this car is that it has an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Dash has shift indicator, automatic pedals, no shifter or evidence of one every being in the car.
Did they make special order turbo automatics? Possibly for export only? Any info greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray
