It's worth mentioning that you eliminate everything between the engine 
crankcase and the instrument cluster by simply grounding the 
plug-to-switch wire attached to the oil pressure snap switch, as 
mentioned in here earlier. But doing it this way first saves a lot of 
time. If the oil pressure light comes on, replace the snap switch. 
They're cheap and readily available most places and they do go bad after 
a half-century. Hell, they sometimes would go bad after a couple of 
years...
