‘65 Shop Manual instructions are incorrect - a correction was written in Chevrolet Service News and repeated in ‘66 Shop Manual Supplement. The correct procedure is essentially the same as you have posted for Early Models.

Just did this on. ‘64 PC this morning. Process was in the assembly manual / engine section. Maybe different for LM?

Here is the snapshot. Realize it is for 1964. Maybe someone can verify ‘65 difference(s).

The Ranch tells me the valve adjustment (using the special tool) inside the trans is correct. I believe them. Under light throttle it shifts from low to high at about 15-18 MPH. Any tips or davice about how to adjust the rod from the gas pedal to the lever on the side of the trans? Any assistance greatly apricated. Thanks.
