First, what chrome? Only the bumpers and emblems are chrome AFAIK.
The majority of brite stuff is aluminum. Such as headlamp "doors",
rocker molding, cove moldings, etc.
OK, taillamp trim is also chrome on late models.
This may sound nuts, but if the chrome is in bad shape, first step is
polishing with a ball of aluminum foil and water. Then another polish.
If the aluminum is dull, first remove the anodizing..... then polish.
