I’ll find out soon! Putting a SMALL turbo on my ‘67/110/pg with 3.27’s Blow thru and limited to 5 psi…and NOT above the fan!! See pic

talking with Tom Keosababian last night…I had him “refresh” my memory.

Wife’s car….EM PG 84 hp Stock EM turbo… YH’s needle valve referenced to manifold pressure… just like the fuel pump… she needed it to accel to 70 mph with no “letup” to get on the LA freeways……drove it for years… never touched the engine… stock Distributor! He reminded me that because we never use a stock Turbo curve… instead going to 36 BTDC by 1500-2000 rpm…. No wild Boost at Shift!...so simple…

As far as the bud’s turbo… why not just put a set of rings in it? Common maintenance for turbo owners that drive the cars hard? Not just Vairs..

Now, that said:     I know someone who put a modified turbo engine in a
Corvair with a PG transmission.   Yes it ran very strong and he enjoyed
it.  In fact he enjoyed it so much he got "into it" a LOT.   It didn't
take long for it to loosen up, (that's a euphemism for "wear out") and
eventually begin using oil.   He sold it not long after.

You wanna put a turbo engine in a PG Corvair?   Treat it kindly and
LEARN how to drive it and how to Tune it, and make sure you run high
test, as high as you can find, and maybe you can get away with it and
make it live.   Run it hard, and you'll live to regret the engine that
won't live.
