Reread my first comment.
How quickly a plugged vent causes a problem will probably vary with how full
the gas tank is.

It's actually only one problem - a blocked fuel vent. You could try
strapping a gas can to the trunk with a syphon feed to the carburettors
- that eliminates the entire fuel system. Although I agree this sounds
more like coil or condenser, as I would expect it to run quite a
distance with a blocked fuel vent before it started starving.
