Good point, I have two doughnut spares in my front wheel drive vehicles
that have slipped belts, i.e. lumps and wavyness  in the tread.  Both
under 20 years old. Been looking for replaacements, but whowants to buy
a 20 year old tire? New tires are available, but some shops do not want
to mount them on the skinny wheels....

A doughnut spare fits nicely in the stock location. Mine came from my '79 Caddy before it went to Pick 'N Pull. Interestingly, it has a dual bolt hole pattern. A large one for the big cars and small for the smaller ones.
